LDAP
User Group Environment LUGE is an open-source project, generously hosted by Sourceforge that documents an LDAP infrastructure and a high-level API for reading and writing information about Users (people) and Groups. Use of LUGE:
* enables LDAP administrators to easily manage the underlying data
* ensures that internal applications will use LDAP in a scalable, secure manner
* hides some of the complexity of LDAP for end users who are not LDAP experts
